The Howland Township Board of Trustees, in partnership with Howland Rotary, is proud to launch the first Hometown Hero Banner Program to honor current and former Howland residents who have served in the U.S. military.
Key Program Details
- Purpose: Honor local veterans and active-duty service members
- Banner Size: 24” x 48”, double-sided
- Banner Includes: Photo, name, branch of service, and sponsor name (Sample of banner displayed)
- Display Location: Light posts along East Market Street
- Display Dates: Memorial Day 2026 through Labor Day 2026
- After Display: Sponsors may pick up banners at the Township Administration Office after Labor Day
Availability & Cost
- Approximately 50 banners available
- First-come, first-served (first 50 completed and paid applications)
- Cost: $130 per banner

Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- Completed application form: Hometown Hero Application
- $130 payment (checks only, payable to Howland Township)
- High-resolution photo

- Information submitted will be used to design banners — no changes allowed after submission
