Mines Rd. (Trumbull County). On behalf of the Trumbull County Engineer, work is scheduled to start Monday, 8/24/26 on Mines Road in Howland Township adjacent to the City of Niles. The work includes resurfacing Mines Road from SR-46 to Stillwagon Road. ![]()
There will be lane restrictions in order to perform the milling operation, the partial-depth pavement repairs, and resurfacing of the intermediate and surface courses of asphalt, followed by pavement markings. Work is expected to be completed by Monday, August 31, 2026. ![]()

Howland Police Department is assisting the United States Marshals Service and Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team with a law enforcement operation in the 3900 block of Highlawn Ave. SE. Please avoid the area. SR 169 (Niles Road) is shut down at Deforest Ave. SE and Harvey Ave. SE. Deforest Rd. is shut down at SR 169 (Niles Road) and Columbus Ave. All residents in the area of Highlawn Ave. SE, Ridgelawn Ave. SE, and Curtis Ave. SE are asked to either evacuate the area or shelter-in-place.![]()
