Fiber Communication Co. Information

Residents may notice increased activity throughout the Township as telecommunications companies install fiber optic infrastructure to expand high-speed internet service. These projects are conducted by private telecommunications providers, including Spectrum, AT&T, Omni, Lumos, and Brightspeed, and are not directly managed by Howland Township but do have expectations and permit processes.

Installation work typically occurs within public rights-of-way and existing utility easements and may involve temporary disturbance of lawns, trees, sidewalks, or landscaping. Contractors are generally responsible for restoring affected areas once installation is complete.

What Residents Should Do if an Issue Occurs

If you have concerns about property disturbance, restoration issues, or questions about ongoing work in your neighborhood, residents should first contact the telecommunications provider performing the work so the issue can be addressed directly.

For your convenience, Howland Township has prepared an attachment listing the contact information for the telecommunications companies currently operating within the Township. Residents are encouraged to reference this document to identify the appropriate provider and report concerns.
